Life.
What is human life?
A living organism? An audible heartbeat? A tangible encounter?
The first breath,
His, yours, or mine?
A highly anticipated moment.
A noteworthy miracle.
The early years,
Milestones reached or unreached?
Inconsequential.
Breaths so vital, multiplied.
The in-between –
Trophies, jigsaws, and tissues?
Literal and metaphorical moments knitted together.
Breaths acquired and breaths taken away.
Nearing the end…
Breath so unrhythmical, yet undeniably in sync?
Accompanied by wisdom aspired by many.
Stories and lessons to be proclaimed.
A reflection by the window:
Glancing out towards the light,
The internal compass needle turns a few degrees.
A faded image appears,
Is it adjacent or is it at the vertex?
Am I pink, peach, or yellow?
Am I lime green or pear green?
Am I sitting or standing in the vase?
What is north, your true north?
Who has the right?
A question we subconsciously answer.
Who has the right to end life?
Is it the person living the life or the starter of life?
A reflection of life:
Looking up, looking down,
Looking out, looking in.
What is true and what is false?
Beauty and strength prevail,
And life triumphant,
As an unrelenting breath carries us through.
The power of life.
