Last month, my husband and I travelled through Italy and Greece on an incredibly fun adventure! From Venice to the Amalfi Coast we found that every facet of Italy was so vast and unique. We loved tasting local food and seeing the sights that each place was known for and we were blown away with the landscapes and natural beauty.
One train ride (from Florence to Rome) I found myself looking out the window onto the tuscan hillside listening to “Valentine” from Hillsong Worship where the chorus says…
“This world is Yours
My God this world is Yours
All You made to be Yours
I know You love us all
Your agape love displaces fear
And the plan is working heaven’s near
For the kingdom comes to the heart that whispers
Have mercy God on me”
He reigns amongst it all
These lyrics struck a chord with my soul, as I looked out, knowing that some 14,000+ kms from home, I could feel the presence of God on a bullet train through Italy. From the vast landscape; hills, mountains, ocean and towns God had a very certain agenda to remind me that he reigns amongst it all.
From the highest point (often in bell towers or cliff faces) right out to the ocean off the southern part of Italy in Capri, he had made it all to be his.
In Psalm 33 verses 4 - 9 it says;
‘For God’s Word is solid to the core;
everything he makes is sound inside and out.
He loves it when everything fits,
when his world is in plumb-line true.
Earth is drenched in God’s affectionate satisfaction.
The skies were made by God’s command;
he breathed the word and the stars popped out.
He scooped Sea into his jug,
put Ocean in his keg.
Earth-creatures, bow before God;
world-dwellers—down on your knees!
Here’s why: he spoke and there it was,
in place the moment he said so.’
This passage paints the picture that I am inspired, refreshed and in awe of. During our travels it was wonderful to relax, to get some down time but most of all; there is nothing more special than finding the wonder of creation across the earth which all glimmers from the most spectator creator.
