  • Feelings Will Distract

Standing in the middle the greenest vegetation I’ve even seen and physically and spiritually hungry people, yet I feel nothing. Several questions fill my head. Is this shock from finally leaving my home country? Am I here just to observe and support the team? Did I not thoroughly consult God about going on the trip?

  • Grace and glory

Being a daughter or son of God is like building a business or constructing an essay. The latter sometimes requires bankruptcy or deleting the entire idea and starting from scratch. God, our Father, does not require us to start from scratch when we fail. However, he commands that we repent, turn to God, and walk forward into the refreshing presence of the Lord (Acts, chapter 3, verse 19).

  • Cultivating Perseverance

In distant running, such as marathons and road running, there is a phenomenon called second wind that athletes may experience. There is a jolt of energy and strength the runner receives, however, seconds earlier filling their lungs with air seemed impossible and their bodies were ready to collapse mid stride.

  • Faith and Fatigue

Have you ever watched a child throw tantrum and whiny all as a result of tiredness? You may even hear the parent or babysitter say to the child that if they would just stop resisting being cradled and rocked then their agitation would dissolve.

  • Mercy triumphs over judgement

Many times, we brace ourselves and wait for God to hit our lives with some fire and brimstone moment. However, there are no free-prisoners in righteousness, yet we are convinced our prior cycles and life struggles could not have been forgiven.

  • Victory in Unlikely Places

There are many places to seek God for direction, but my car seems to be a popular spot of consistent revelation. Although grateful for the invite, anxiousness set in because I had only one piece of what I needed to share. I only had two days left to finish preparing to speak at a college revival.
